Agro Benefit Lanka

Our Initiative

ABL’s pilot project is a bold step toward transforming agriculture and food distribution in Sri Lanka. We have established collection centers in Jaffna, Thambuththegama, and Nuwara Eliya, covering both northern and southern regions, to aggregate fresh produce directly from farmers. A key innovation in this project is the use of railway transportation as the primary mode of moving goods. By leveraging the railway network, we ensure faster, more reliable, and cost-effective distribution while contributing to the revitalization of Sri Lanka’s transport infrastructure.

This approach reduces unnecessary intermediaries, minimizes road congestion, and strengthens the overall supply chain. From our Colombo distribution center, fresh produce reaches consumers at competitive prices, delivering both value and convenience. By combining technology, logistics, and modern distribution methods, this pilot project empowers farmers with fair pricing while offering consumers fresh, high-quality food. It represents a turning point in Sri Lankan consumer behavior and sets a new benchmark for a modern, sustainable agricultural system.

Regional Activities

Regional Activities

At Agro Benefit Lanka (ABL), our regional initiatives are designed to empower farmers, strengthen communities, and create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem across Sri Lanka. By establishing strategically located collection centers in key regions, we ensure that fresh produce moves efficiently from farm to market, reducing waste and maximizing value for both farmers and consumers.

Our collection centers act as hubs for aggregation, quality control, and distribution. They bring farmers together, enabling smoother logistics, faster delivery, and consistent pricing, while also creating opportunities for farmers to learn from each other and share best practices.

Knowledge sharing is at the core of our regional approach. Through workshops, digital platforms, and on-field guidance, farmers gain access to modern cultivation techniques, climate-smart practices, and post-harvest solutions. This continuous learning equips them to increase productivity, reduce losses, and make informed decisions for their farms.

Beyond operations and training, ABL focuses on community building and collaboration. By connecting farmers across regions, we foster a culture of peer learning, mutual support, and collective growth. This network strengthens resilience in rural communities, enhances livelihoods, and inspires farmers to adopt innovative practices confidently.

Through these regional activities, ABL creates real value for farmers, consumers, and the nation. By improving access, knowledge, and collaboration, we are not just transforming individual farms – we are laying the foundation for a modern, efficient, and sustainable agricultural sector that benefits generations to come.

OUR STORY

Every great movement begins with a simple idea. Ours began with a belief that Sri Lanka’s farmers deserve more than just survival; they deserve to thrive as agripreneurs.

At Agro Benefit Lanka, we saw the challenges faced by thousands of farmers across the country. Unpredictable prices, limited access to markets, and a system that often left them behind. But we also saw their strength, resilience, and passion. That’s where our story began,in the fields of the people who feed our nation.

We asked ourselves a question: What if we could connect every farmer directly to opportunity? That question became our mission.

Through partnerships with the Sri Lanka Agripreneurs’ Forum (SLAF), Polygon, and MAC Holdings, we began building a bridge between technology, logistics, and market access. Our digital platform "GOVIMART" empowers farmers to connect directly with buyers, track their produce, and earn a fair price. Our logistics network, in collaboration with Sri Lanka Railways, is redefining how fresh produce moves across the island-faster, greener, and more efficient than ever before.

But beyond systems and technology, Agro Benefit Lanka is about people. It’s about the farmer who no longer has to depend on the middleman. It’s about the young agri-entrepreneur who sees farming not as a burden, but as a career of pride and potential. It’s about creating a community where innovation and agriculture grow together.

Today, we’re not just moving produce, we’re moving hope, opportunity, and progress. Our dream is to see every farmer recognized as a vital part of Sri Lanka’s economic future-empowered, independent, and proud.

Because when we uplift a farmer, we uplift a family. When we uplift a family, we uplift a nation.

That’s the heart of Agro Benefit Lanka Growing Farmers. Growing Sri Lanka.
